French students feast on food & art

Thursday, 15 December was our traditional French Class Luncheon.  All 4 classes prepared hors d’oeuvres, plats principaux et desserts to share.  C’était délicieux!

Then in January, the very first week back, French 2, 3 & 4 along with Mrs. Miers’ art classes visited the colorful Impressionist exhibit offered by William & Mary’s Muscarelle Museum.   Docents took students and parents around on a guided tour,  explaining the  developments of this style of painting that represented a break with tradition.  We learned that painting outdoors, color contrasts, personal impressions were among the shocking changes to the normal way of painting.
