French Film Potpourri at French Club

CNU French professor Steve Spalding introduced our French Club members to the cinematography of French films during a recent meeting in November.   Munching on homemade ‘beignets’ or French donuts (‘merc!i’ Mademoiselle la Présidente Kate Fitzgerald) students provided with background information for 5 iconic French films.  Steve then showed a small segment of each after explaining what it was we were to look for.  I found fascinating not only how to interpret camera angles but the insights on what the directors were set on communicating by different aspects of film-making.
